... two saints to address and preach Christianity to the locals. Followed by two other ancient Orthodox and Catholic Churches from the 16th Century.

This island boasts more history than you can imagine.

We spent some time in the old town of Corfu and found our way back to the ship for a late lunch and a nap.

We decided to have a lazy evening as we were looking forward to being at sea all day ...

... veranda was three open spaces and we could wander between rooms for the appropriate cocktail. I should have been drinking water, but a little wine NEVER hurt anyone! Right?


Dinner tonight was in the Polo Lounge! Chi, Chi chic and quite wonderful. I think we all ate more than necessary - Steve had a 32 ounce prime rib - I don't think he finished it! Lord, I HOPE he didn't finish it!!! After dinner a nite cap and off to bed.

... Jahre 1989, das in der Schweiz im Tessin und in Graubuenden verkehrte...
In Butrint traf ich dann gleich wieder auf die franzoesische Gruppe. Sie hatten einen Archaeologen bei sich, der alles schoen erklaerte. Ich durfte mich netterweise ihnen anschliessen. Leider war die Fuehrung auf franzoesisch, so dass ich nur etwa die Haelfte verstand. Aber war trotzdem super, diese Zusatzinfos zu haben. Zudem hatte ich einen guten Austausch mit den Leuten aus der Reisegruppe...

Ein englisches Paar hat mir in Tirana empfohlen die Kuestenstrasse nach Saranda zu nehmen und wenn moeglich auch einen Zwischenstopp in Dhermiu zu machen. Es hat sich wirklich gelohnt...
Die Kuestenstrasse fuehrt vor Dhermiu auf einen Pass auf 1000 Meter ueber Meer. Nachdem man den Pass passiert hat, hat man eine atemberaubende Aussicht. Eine steile Felswand fuehrt Tausend Meter direkt ins Meer hinunter. Der Bus schlaengelt sich dann langsam den Hang ...

... Tirana, hablan albanés, y no tienen nada muy característico. Pero al parecer, tenía playas más que bonitas. Y decidí pasar un día en mi camino desde Grecia hacia Montenegro... a falta de vuelos baratos para hacer la conexión.
