The police attempted to direct us away from the terminal but by simply driving more slowly than everyone else by the time we reached the blockade the police car had opened the road again and we were able arrive at our destination with hours to spare (yes, I know!)

Arrived safely after a great flight from Australia. Traveled business class with Singapore and get 10/10 for service and great food. Transferred to Lufthansa and again good service but beds not as comfortable. First day just wandered around Manchester and got our bearings. Busy place and very industrial. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza and loved it very central just walked to everything. ...

After lunch i went to the people's museum – based on politics and history, it was interesting to walk through the different times and histories. After i finished here i went to the national football museum. I used the WiFi here, then walked around the museum, seeing the history of the game, then the modern part of the game, trophies and stars.
