      Dubai - it's all about the shopping. Or that's how it seems. There are more shops and shopping malls than people and the malls themselves rival the famous shopping precincts of the world (think Oxford Street and Orchard Road). Inside the Mall of the Emirates you can find a fully functioning artificial alpine ski slope and the Dubai Mall contains a walk through aquarium, an ice rink and a waterfall. And why not?

      ... was right next to the Subaru dealership. All the cars are decorated with the picture of the princes or flags. I am hoping it is only for the holiday, but not too sure. I visited the Sheikh Zayed Mosque or the Grand Mosque to see the amazing archeticture, feel the spiritual feeling and have a very charming experience. It boasts it has the largest Swarovski chandelier, which I am pretty sure it is. It weighs twelve tons. There are seven ...

      ... enjoying a martini in their lounge bar. It was awesome...not that we drank at the bar though haha, we were enjoying our comfy bed/seat while watching movies. It was a great experience :-)So we arrived nice and relaxed into Dubai (11.40pm) got our bags fast and then we were off! Soon enough we were at our hotel and up in bed, didn't get to sleep until about 2am though...but hey sleep in time tomorrow!

      For the last time, and this from the Emirates Lounge at Dubai Airport Terminal 3: What a difference a day makes!

      I cannot think of a greater contrast than Istanbul and Dubai. The former ancient. The latter brand new. No matter that cities and mega-shopping-malls are not Jen's or my oeuvre, the architecture in Dubai and the opulence of the appointments in its buildings are simply stunning. City planning, the road system and the metro railway define perfection.

      ... just to sit and think about the day and the rest of the travels left to come. We found a TGI Fridays over the road from the hotel and thought we'd treat ourselves to a big meal and cocktails as it could be the last big meal for a while. I was disappointed to see no cocktails on the menu though, I forgot they're not big drinkers here. We had a gorgeous tea though but the meal sizes were huge, my starter would of been enough to feed 4 people. After tea it was a case ...
