... strange to see! We headed back to the hotel for a rest before we had to get ready for our afternoon drive over the desert for dinner and 4wheel drive over the sand dunes. Those who know me well know I really hate any sort of bumpy/ fast ride. I really was not looking forward to being scared, but went along anyway. It’s difficult to buy a bag of spuds or packet of nuts here unless ...

Arrival and departure from Dubai was un-eventful and we had a good flight to Bangkok. In flight meal was ok and we topped up on vodka and orange in the belief that it would help us sleep; it didn't work so by the time we got to BKK we were both well tired.
We had a little adventure getting ourselves from the airport via the City Line train and BTS to Saphan Taskin which is at the central pier ...

... country it's something worth doing. After a bit more walking and a bit more looking we decide to head across town to the "new" Dubai Mall. I'd never been to Dubai Mall, as its just been built a few years ago after my Middle Eastern adventures.

We turn up to Dubai Mall to see a McLaren, Porsche, and Ferrari in the valet parking.. what an entrance. I thought Emirates Mall was big, but no this is massive. There is a huge aquarium in the mall, all the ...
