... Lahaina shops before the Hawaiian Luau.

Rain had cleared earlier but just a little cool. The food was great and the show was also good. All you can eat and any drinks. Mai Tai's on arrival then any cocktail you like from a list of about 10. Only got through a couple, boy, were they potent. The Christmas Tree was great decorated in silk frangipani's. I guess this is what you call Christmas Hawaiian Style.

We found couple of new gardens that we didn't know about before. First up was Maui Nui in Kahului. Their focus is growing plants that are native. We had a tour by Kaoni (John). We learned how Ti leaves are used for healing, Anapanapa is used as a soap, Noni as a general tonic, and more. Very unique. Then we went to The Sacred Garden. It was different as well. Very Zen. The refreshing dip was exactly what we needed. After having our fun, we headed back to our resort area. But first- we had to stop and grab an ice ...

... smile. She shouted "Isn't this great?" at us as she walked by. We agreed.

We got back to our condo, washed up and had dinner. A repeat of Friday night's fare - pasta and salad.

Tomorrow we are planning to drive "The Road to Hana" so we pack snacks, swim suits, hiking boots and backpacks, unsure as to what all we will need. We are hoping to leave no later than 7am so it is time for bed.

I hope you will come along on our road trip tomorrow....

... We had a nice relaxing afternoon while the kids napped. It was too hot to do anything substantive and so cold beverages and conversation were the order. By five we had regrouped and set off for fish tacos and sangria at a Maui Tacos location. It was good fare and filled a hole. Opposite the restaurant was a park and playground (Kamaole Beach) and so we wound the evening (and children) down there. Groceries and TV...so ...
