Meanwhile, the book I'm reading has me hooked and disturbed. I'm reading Gillian Flynn's (Gone Girl) previous novel Sharp Objects and I can't put it down - but like I said, it is disturbing. It's worth a read if you want something kinda dark and if you want to feel like you met my mother. (you have to read the book to get that) - She is such a unique writer and really gets inside of strange people's heads ...

... this week. Once north of the river, we walked up to St. Paul's Cathedral and gazed upon its grandeur for a bit before heading to Fleet Street to find the Vodafone store. We were successful in our SIM card purchase and now have a working phone for texting/calling within London and data use so we don't get too lost... Now, if I could just get ahold of John Relihan... Since we were in the right neighborhood, we decided to make a quick detour to Fetter ...

Today it was really wet ...so it was wet gear stuff for us for the first time in almost eight weeks.
Took the tube to Piccadilly station then walked down THE MALL to Buckingham Palace. Because it was raining it turned out to be a bit of a non event, even though we stood around for an hour and a half waiting for the changing of the guard to commence..but not today ..to much rain.

... sitting where she would sit was very cool.
We then made our way up through the park to Oxford street and caught our first double decker bus into the shopping district. I could've spend a week in there and a lot of money but instead we stuck to our guns and visited Disney and Hamleys. Disney didn't have to much of a variety so it was good to save up the pennies for Disneyland France. Hamleys was lots of fun too... ...

... Jo pointed out that our shoes would get muddy so while we were coming up with other ideas Lili arrived for a visit. She had been one of the tennis players that I watched but I had no idea it was her or I could have clapped and cheered for her! After Lili left we had some lunch then headed out for a drive to the Windsor Farm shop for some groceries and then on to Staines to get supplies for our outing on Saturday night.
