        bittersweet times as we touch the bases on our last two days here. Sunday we drove south to Gennadi, our favorite pebble beach, for a long swim and fish lunch just before the wind came up.         Mary, Shelley & Dan arrived in Lindos Friday afternoon and settled into Mary's beautiful home, aka The Museum. After a slow morning regrouping from our road trip, we headed to the main beach, which is paved with sun beds all summer but comparatively deserted now. Settling into Rosanna's Italian beach taverna, we ordered, had a swim, ate a delicious lunch of seafood risotto and fresh fish, and swam again. The aquamarine sea was clear and warm.         At the summit of Mount Artmati we stopped to take pictures of the island and ended up chatting with the vendor at his little stand. After tasting his 'home produced' wine, olive oil and honey we tried his Suma. Fire water is an appropriate description as it is a clear 48% alcohol 'drink'. We didn't buy any but did buy a small can of olive oil and a small bottle of red wine which tastes like red wine sherry. We will ...
