    Thankfully it was our rest day as we'd awoken to the sound of heavy rain in Vienna. First and foremost was the washing. Having spent way to much time in European laundrettes I decided to ask hotel receptionist where I could have laundry done.     Back to the Naschmarket Saturday for dinner groceries (fresh pasta and sauce, bread, salad, artisan cheeses, wine, etc.)

    Sunday put us on the train to Melk to tour the Abbey, lunch, then a boat ride down the Danube to Krems where we caught the train back to Vienna. We took the Railjet for part of the train ride and the posted speed was 228 kph, which converts to 142 mph. We were flying on the ground! Melk was under re-construction ...

    ... we decided to head home and walked through the Volksgarten which is a public park which is surrounded by beautiful buildings which are mostly museums. I ran around getting my fill of photos in the freezing cold avoiding patches of ice on the path. I made it out in one piece and stood outside the building where the prime minister lives which is building to pretty for its purpose.
