... around F5-6 straight on the nose. After a short passage we anchored and stuck the weather out. We've been fortunate all along so one or two days of bad weather is not worth complaining about.

The following day we went up the river d'Auray picked up a mooring and then proceeded by dinghy to Auray. Such a lovely little town. Being a Sunday there was nothing open except restaurants but that didn't matter.

The road goes ever on and on

After Elven we were in need of sustenance. Vannes was our destination, not far down the motorway, on the Gulf of Morbihan. It was easy getting into the centre of the city and found a parking spot (free between 12 and 2 being lunchtime when shops shut) and walked back through narrow cobbled streets - the norm really - and quickly chose a busy cafe with seats outside under the shade. We also saw an ancient burial chamber dating back 4.500 years which was fully intact - amazing. Unfortunately unable to get good pictures of what is was like inside.

After our bike rides we wandered around the town and low and behold the fish market was still open - so we bought some more langustines and a lobster.

Carnac is a small village in Brittany, home to over 3000 megalithic stones. They're not big like Stnehenge, actually about waist height. They date back to a time between 5000 and 3500 BC and covers around five or six areas throughout the village. At least a couple of the sites are called alignments because for some unknown reason, the stones are laid out in perfect straight lines. Who knows the reason for this? We certainly ...

We are staying at our first 'France Passion' stop tonight, only half an hour from Carnac. France Passion is a group of like minded individuals who provide stopovers for motorhomes at a variety of places. Tonight's one is an oyster / cockles harvester, situated right on an estuary. We went to have a couple of drinks at the bar (which is in a sort of ...
