... one of my interests fully and having the opportunity to real be an expert in French.
Anyways, feel free to follow along! If you speak some french or no french at all and want to learn, I'll also post words I've never heard before and you can learn too!
Additionally, as I begin to learn them, I'll post bible verses in French too!
Interesting observations so far:
There are lots of long distance coach buses ...
I had 350 miles to cover if I wanted to hit France today, I couldn't face that on the back roads so did 200 miles on the Italian motorways, 3 hours & 26 Euro later.....I got back onto the A roads. It took me the best part of 6 hours to cover 150 miles over the mountains. I told the Satnav to avoid motorways and toll roads and then take me the shortest route......I can't decide whether that was a mistake or not because altitude wise I peaked ...
... decent speed!
That evening we Skyped my Mum as it was her birthday and had a nice long catch up before heading out to a restaurant for dinner...Le Comptier. The food was delicious. I had 'black pig' which just melted in the mouth whilst the others all had steak. All the desserts were just as fantastic as was the service we received.
... s vertigo. On one of the rock faces, Michelle's disco legs was a source of amusement for both Virginie and me!!!
Well we made it down safely...eventually and back to the car. A short walk with Chicken for him to stretch his legs and then we made it to the village Bar for a beer! Another film was tonight's entertainment...The Bridges of Madison County.
The weather looked pretty good this morning but we knew there was a threat of some rain so Virginie made the decision that we would just do a mediocre length walk! We set off walking from the chalet, heading for the summit of Col de Maronne and then down via Signal de l'Homme. 5 or so hours later in mountain conditions, the rain certainly came down so we arrived back wet through!
After dinner, our evening entertainment was watching the Life of David Gale. Great film!
