We woke up a little earlier today to make the hour long trip to Noto, famous for its Baroque architecture, almonds and the gelateria that purportedly makes the best ice-cream in the world! I have to bribe the girls with either the promise of shopping or something nice to eat if I expect them to traipse through Duomo after Duomo, or climb unendingly steep hills in search of castles and mosaics. We spent the afternoon unpacking and hungrily consuming wifi like crazed drug addicts..... Skype calls ...

... Very nice, and visited a cheese, chocolate and wine shop with tastings of the produce. Carol loved the chocolate and the bread with olive oil. Phillip loved it all. At about 6.15 we arrived at the hotel. It is very classy and out of town and surrounded by farms. After a lovely shower we went to dinner with the group. Another spectacular and most enjoyable day seeing new things. We are very glad that we have come to ...

... in the 12th century. We continued taking the peripheral walks around town to shield us from the summer sun. It was scorching!

In the Shadows of Ragusa. He showed me houses made in caves… you would have never known from the outside, covered by doors. We passed by the river, and small waterfalls you never thought existed in the area. From there, we came to a necropolis that looks like a scene from Tomb Raider. It was quite ...
