... was a great hostel and we shared our little
unit with a load of Northerners, a Canadian and a Brazilian. All
were nice and with the rain we ended up chatting to them quite a lot
and spending the evening in. Not wanting to miss all of Noosa and
with free hire and a break in the rain, Paul and the Brazilian went
to catch some waves on Sunshine beach. Hmmmmm, the rain may have held
off but the sea was immense; chopping everywhere and they lasted
... away knowing how not to get eaten alive. Apart from the crocodiles the show included demonstrations of several different bird species the most impressive of which was the Andean Condor with its 3 meter wing span.
Chloe enjoyed going to see the Kangaroos, which were very tame and amenable to a good stroking. One in particular seemed to really amuse her as its ears kept twitching causing shrieks of laughter and “silly kanga-oo”. We also saw some Koalas ...

Overall Noosa is a beautiful place, popular with wealthy Australians from Brisbane and retired types. We both agree that Noosa is one of our favourite places and would have liked longer than 2 nights here but it's onwards to our next destination, Rainbow Beach, the gateway to Fraser Island where we will spend 2 nights camping and exploring in a 4x4 truck..
... to visit there, a short bus trip and I'll be there so I'll do that on my last day here, I'm only here for 2 days so a swift visit. This brings me onto the first of my 2 days, a coastal walk across Noosa, starting at Sunshine beach, a lovely white sandy beach, very quiet (it was 8.15am), a great surfing beach with people slowly appearing and pretty much all with surfboards.
