    ... to work. Hospitality industry is extremely competitive and poorly paid. Tipping is the expected courtesy, with some some bills indicating what 15 or 20 percentage would equal.     ... at the beach. There were chickens running around everywhere, even some with little baby chicks (they are wild, and common on Kauai). I also got to see someone rescued by a lifeguard. There were some people on boogie boards that had gone out too far, and on the left side of the beach (there had been a sign saying that side had a bad current).     ... in my luggage….I went for a 5K walk along the Pedestrian/Bike Path along the ocean front and then enjoyed some Shave Ice. Today was actually a relaxing-chill-sleep in kind of day. Needed that….it was nice! Later on I went to Wailua Falls. These tiered waterfalls are 113 feet in height, and are very close to Kapa’a and only took about 20 minutes or so to get there. ...

    ... of Kauai, stopping at many lookout points and beaches along the way. The first stop was the Kilauea Lighthouse which opened at 10 a.m. and cost $5 admission as this is a State Park. Lots of birds flying around the cliffs and one type which frequents this area is the Red-footed Boobies. I could even see whales out on the ocean, but they are not very cooperative with posing for pictures.
