... headed into the cemetery. It was actually very ornate, the headstones were huge (I remember one being a life size statue of 2 people dancing), and some were in rooms/buildings, I’m sure there is a proper word for them. We each broke off and strolled around separately, then convened together and started walking further up the road. We made it to the Piazza we had wanted to go to, took tons of pictures, and goofed off (I can’t express enough how ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy ab10... Cranberry Sauce, Stuffing, Potatoes, and Mixed Vegetables. For dessert pumpkin pie, ice cream, and apple cider! It was nice to spend the night with classmates and a few professors.
Friday night, we had yet another Thanksgiving with all of my friends. Everyone prepared their favorite dish and we spent the night telling stories of our families Thanksgivings.

... food in Italy so far! Amazing!
Finished off with a gelati from Vivoli.
Walked up to Michaelangelo Square for awesome views right across Florence which is a pretty flat city and then over to Ponte Vechio.
Wednesday checked out Academia, the highlight of which was Michaelangelo's David which is a lot more amazing and stunning in real life than pictures or the copies littered about the city.
There was also a Robert ...
Hi Everyone!
After an exhausting weekend in Brussels, I was in for yet another treat with cooking classes in Florence. Organized by my school, a group of us met with a chef for some lessons.
We were taught how to prepare typical Tuscan cuisine including Ribollita and Stuffed zucchini-flowers.
Everything was delicious & I look forward to trying these recipes at home!

... little breezes if we open up the windows. We share the top landing with our landlord Dario, a wonderfully genial middle-aged man who speaks very little English but has a heart of gold. He insists on continually bringing us all sorts of housewarming gifts- a fan, coffee/percolator, extra blankets, anything we need. He and his roommate(/partner?) own the bar below our apartments and maintain a beautiful rooftop garden just above our flat with a million ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy colebonner... lot. DUH! I had forgot to check the outlet's schedule. It was Monday and it was closed. A little disappointed and with a promise we would come back another day, we carried on to the beautiful resort, Monsegnior della Casa where we stayed for 3 days. Our disappointment left as soon as we drove through the front gates . [
What a beautiful oasis! We were met by Serena and Valentina at the office and escorted to what we thought would be simple room ...
... good. So that ended my day and now on Sunday, I'm sitting at school using the Internet and spent an hour trying to find food, because most things not in the center near the Duomo are closed on Sundays, even the supermarket, so that's was fun and interesting. Luckily the place Ashley and I ended up at was very good, so we've decided to make it our Sunday lunch place. That's about it for now. I'll be blogging about Pisa and Lucca tomorrow!
Florence, Tuscany, Italy bsbfanatik... in a hot room waiting to talk to an Indian guy). We checked into our hostel, which was absolutely horrible. They had the no-fun police working there, so we were kicked out more than once to 'take it elsewhere'. It was so hot there too, apparantly there aren't any fans in Italy. Come Tuesday were check out to wander the streets until 4.45pm to collect our passports (this is the strict time, and they are open only for 30mins!). And wander the streets we do. After 2 ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy shaunandlisa... receded and the water dropped a good ten feet, and she fell along with it. Luckily, she was ok, swallowed a little water when the next wave hit, but eventually regained her bearings and got out of the water. Again, I was not about to get in.... We returned back to Anacapri from the beach and stopped at a little restaurant in town that looked cheap and good. Again, it was neither. They apparently were shutting down the kitchen at around 6pm ...
