    ... Alyssa had a more simple salad but hers came with pieces of bread that had cheese baked onto the tops of them.

    We continued with our mains, a boeuf bourgogneon for Alyssa and a seared veal tenderloin for me. Both of us were quiet during this part of the meal as we were both very much enjoying our mains.

    ... as was the wine. We asked for a digestif after our meal, and were given a distilled wine with an alcohol percentage of 45. It smelled and tasted like scotch, but tasted like grapes and honey. AS2, or other interested Samms, if you come to France ever, you'll have to try this! Apparently it's unique to the Bourgogne region.

    Time to head to bed and get plenty of sleep before we start our next ...

    ... come from all around the world to buy the current vintage from all of the wineries in the Bourgogne (Burgundy) region and to buy other wines from previous years that are being put up for sale. Christie's auction house will be here to auction off the most sought after wines, last year a single barrel went for 7000 Euros! While here we also learned that all the shops are closed on Mondays, most retail shops close for lunch every ...

    La Route des grands Crus - A bushwalk (mudwalk) to a 'magnificent' natural spring and waterfall (that's what it said in the guide book). We did enjoy the fresh air and exercise.

    A huge storm last night and still raining when we woke up this morning. Our living area carpet was wet but could not see any obvious leaking point. There were also wet spots elsewhere. Macca had noticed water being pumped out of a house when he managed a quick walk this morning.
