    ... had isle Flottante which was meringue floating in custard with caramel icecream. With fizzy water and a glass of pinot each 58 euro was terrific value. All the restaurant is done out with animals, rabbits, cats, sheep etc.and toile curtains in red and white..very quirky and French.Great fun. Almost inspired to make hot souffles again..haven't done one since the 70s! Off to see a friend in Tournus tomorrow so another interesting freeway ...

    Today we were based at the small town of Tournus which has a population of 6200 people but boasts 5 one star Michelin restaurants! Regretfully we were unable to try them. Apparently this is a very busy town because it is halfway between the North and South of France and a common stop off point for travellers.

    A huge storm last night and still raining when we woke up this morning. Our living area carpet was wet but could not see any obvious leaking point. There were also wet spots elsewhere. Macca had noticed water being pumped out of a house when he managed a quick walk this morning.
