... I wanted but they had already sold out so I ended up upgrading and went for the €67 tickets that were in the main stand up towards the corner.. After we'd for these sorted we decided to put the van in the car park right by the stadium for the day and then at least when the match finished sometime after midnight we could just go straight back to the van and get away obviously realising that it was going to be fairly busy but better that than having to go ...

... walked back up the hill, I got my first look at THE stairs, which were in fact a few steps built into a corner of the steep hill. You could clearly see where the van had chipped off the corner of the top step's tile. It became known as "Allen's Step." I then walked back down to the van and took a closer look at the van. Now that I knew the steps were so low to the ground, I was able to find that the van was damaged underneath, on the lowest part of ...

If you have been following the blog for the last few weeks you will have spotted the regular pattern of time by the coast with interspersed with trips inland for climbing. We had visited this area back in 2006 and had really enjoyed it. It has some stunning cliffs and gorges high up in the hills at around 1000m above sea level. Although we are high in the hills the day time temperature are still up in the mid 30's so all our climbing is being done ...
