51 BIS PROMENADE ROBERT SCHUMAN Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, French Riviera - Cote d'Azur, Provence, France
ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilman... gesture. We can't change the world but we can change the way these children start off in life and who knows where that will lead....
It is less than 4 weeks now until I leave. There is much to do. I am trying to prepare myself for "teaching" 20 - 25 children. A bit of a challenge that. Much as I have known that I have always wanted to do something like this, now that it ...
... peculator brewing, and more often than not scrambled eggs. Lunch is usually a baguette stuffed with loads of fresh salad, stinky cheese (the smellier the better!!) and Parma ham. Our dinner staples are Spaghetti Bolognaise, Pork Fajitas, Hamburgers with the LOT, Cous Cous ala Gill with chicken and of course no meal starts without the obligatory Ham cheese and olive tapas and a bottle of wine. The other stuff We need to make up our bed every evening as it is made out of ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74On this morning we left Switzerland and travelled south into Italy en-route to the French Riviera. The scenery was pretty spectacular, with snow-white capped, jagged mountains that seemed to swallow the highway. Surreal!
When we arrived at our hotel we had about 30 mins to get ready for our trip into Monaco! On our drive to Monaco we crossed the bridge that Grace Kelly was killed on in a car accident. The roads are ...
... we don't really have enough Euros to start losing them at the casino in Monaco - also what would we wear? No James Bond-esque tux in our backpacks for Lewey or a gorgeous evening dress for Dee...
Speaking of shopping, although Nice is very laid back, it also has lots and lots of shmancy shops as well... there's a strip near the beach with everything from Hermes to Dolce and all in between... Dee contemplated a bit of retail therapy there and then decided maybe not.... It reminded ...
... roads with little shops tucked in holes in the stone. It was quite pretty and had some great views. 27th April - Nice Today we caught the tram in to Nice, and walked along the beach and into the Old Town, which has lots of small streets. We then walked up a lot of stairs to the Colline de Chateau (Castle Hill) which is the site of a medieval castle and had some amazing views in all directions over Nice and the mediteranean sea. After that ...
Nice, Provence, France k_j... at one of the ports that had a carnival going on. Finally, we figured out how to get to the garage, picked up our car and started to head back to Antibes when we spied a sign advertising Ferraris to drive! I had Matthew pull over so I could find out what this was all about. Turns out you can pay (45 euros to be a passenger, 90 euros to be the driver) to ride in a Ferrari for about 10 minutes and to make one ...
Monte Carlo, Monaco fitmomAfter spending the night at a look out over Monoco we were itching to get down and have a closer look! We managed to get through traffic pretty fast and found a very flash camper van park!! Very nice little place (2km square!), very clean and tidy and boy is there some money there!! The boats in the marina must have been worth 1,000,000 euros! And ...
Monaco, France paula_rodI'd been living in Cagnes-sur-mer (near Nice) for about 6 months and was now heading out to tour Europe before moving back to the United States. The trip included London, Rome, Geneva (very briefly), Barcelona and Paris. I was amazed at how cheaply I was able to do this on EasyJet. I picked my flight days according to the cheapest days to fly and only paid around $200 for all 6 flights total!
