Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and for the next 3 hours we learned all about the Catterdrale, Libereria Piccolomini, the Pailo - the bareback horse race which was going to be run in a weeks time and the 17 contrada of the city who are vying for the horse race - a kind of state of origin type rivalry. The Palio, at Piazza del Campo only 10 contrade compete in each race and it is not a touristic event, and ...

... and dried washing, to cook up a pasta storm. Dinner was good, maybe one of Andy's finest camp meals to date, but admittedly the lack of sleep lately has been getting to me and saw me close to strangling the feral children running up and down the road beside our tent as we ate. I knew that anxiety would hinder my sleep tonight anyway, but had a feeling the noise level at the campsite from young children to rowdy adults was going to make for an even longer tense night. Only tomorrow will tell ...

... realized we were at San Giovanni D'Asso. It was a cute town with beautiful views. It was small, and we only spent a little bit of time walking through the streets.

We got back in the car and continued our drive and finally made it to Pienza. The drive into Pienza is beautiful and once we hit the outskirts of the town, I knew immediately, I would enjoy our time here. We found a place to park and set off. We ended up ...
