... then we packed up the van and drove up to Surfers. Absolutely everyone else in Queensland was there, all trying to get a parking spot too, but we eventually found one, many, many blocks away, so MORE walking was involved!

Spent our last full day here visiting friends. Was great to catch up with Deb who we met over two years ago on a cruise. She saw our last blog & realised we were only a block from her! Thanks Deb, was lovely to see you both. We drove to Tamborine Mountain for lunch at one of ...

Oh you might have seen it's 42 degrees in Melbourne this week. Adelaide was the hottest city I'm the world today at 46!! Crazy!! Melbourne is set to change back to mid 20s on Sunday so hopefully I won't need to deal with 40 degrees!! My Scottish skin will cook!! What's the temp in Scotland!!!! ...

I woke up in surfer's paradise

A travel blog entry by sarahrtw on Oct 27, 2013

A short drive from Brisbane was the beach resort of Surfers Paradise. This was my first experience of Australia's beaches. As you can tell from the name, this is a popular spot for surfing, so the sea was a little rough for swimming, more a case of jumping the waves. The water
here in Australia was noticeably colder than Asia, bracing! The lifeguards here did a great job of keeping the crowds (my stay coincided with a weekend, public holiday ...
