To Kilauea volcano national park

A travel blog entry by rulian.fiske

... to sunset. We watched until the sky was dark. It was a gorgeous scene!

We had dinner at the restaurant in the Volcano Lodge, which was supposedly the best restaurant there, again recommended by the Revealed. It turned out to be so-so, in my opinion. I think I liked the hamburger at the Ultimate Hamburger better :-)

It was a fun filled wonderful day!! Thanks to Ira for all the planning and arrangement, for driving, and everything!

Mac was fascinated by all of the different bird calls we could hear. The grounds are very nice and Hawaii really is paradise with all of the various flowers and trees that display ...

... around the board he was towing in his kayak. We didn't have to move around or anything, just hold onto the rope, and the show would come to us.

While we defogged our snorkel masks, he explained some of the history of the Manta Ray Night Swim. Years ago, the large hotel would shine bright lights onto the beach and into the water. They noticed that huge manta rays would come into the bay when they did this, so they continued. Later they ...
