Historical Traveler Reviews Koa Lagoon Kihei

We loved our many stays at the KOA Lagoon

    from

We have stayed at the KOA Lagoon many times, the last in April of 2005, and can say without a doubt this is the best deal. Clean rooms, beautiful yards, they keep up everything at this Condo, rates are just what we want to pay. Very nice personnel. Great view of the ocean, beautiful lanai's to eat on, just a wonderful home away from home. Enjoy!! Senior Citizens from Adrian, Michigan.

Wow - and in Maui, too

    from

This was truly a wonderful surprise. What a great and beautiful condo on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Our unit was huge and even provided us with a telescope to gaze at the stars on our own lanai overlooking the most beautiful ocean in the world. Our unit was newly updated and I think we were the first people to use the new toaster. What a special treat (after being in Hawaii for 7 days already) to find a new washer/dryer right in our unit. The bedroom was large and the kitchen was huge, clean and had all updated appliances. We had a beautiful living room and a dining room. The value was unbelievable and Linda (who runs this condo) was very nice and helpful. We did so much on the island, thanks to a concierge service they recommend and please ask for RW as this man knows EVERYTHING about the island. We could have stayed across the street at another condo for $20 a night less but opted for pay more for staying on the ocean. This is what Hawaii is all about. We were 10 steps from the water. WOW - WOW - WOW. We'll be back.

    A beautiful and relaxing vacation

    from

We stayed at the Koa Lagoon condo (rm 303) in May of 2005 for our honeymoon. Even after staying in a resort on Oahu for the first half of our trip we were really blown away by the comfort and coziness that the Koa Lagoon had to offer, especially considering the amazing price. Everything was clean and neat and the views were amazing. We spent many afternoons just lounging on the balcony enjoying the amazing landscapes. We are already looking forward to our next trip and know we will be spending our stay in Maui at the Koa Lagoon.

    Very Good Condo in Kihei

    from

We rented unit 507 (2-BDR, 2BTH) and it was very nice. Clean and with new appliances. This is not an upper-end resort by any means, but it got the job done with no problems at all. All units face ocean. Complex is on the beach, not across the street like some.

The beach outside is not a good swimming beach, but its nice for walks. Swimming beaches are close. There's a pool but no jacuzzi.

Shops and restaurants are about a half-mile down the main road.

    We Love The Koa

    from

The Koa is our place of choice. We stay 3 weeks when the kids get out of school. The price is right and it's very cozy like home. Linda is very kind and is always there when we need something. We love to walk the beach and drink our morning coffee on our privite lani. Mahalo Linda

    Great Property

    from

Stayed here May 2004..The 2 bedroom 2bath condo was wonderful...had everything we could possibly need right there, with a great price. The beach was a bit rocky, but it didn't bother us. Plenty of restaurants and shops within short driving distance. Quieter area than Kaanapali or Lahaina which was what we wanted. We will be back!

    Great views!!

    from

Stayed April 2004. FANTASTIC views. All units are ocean front view. We rented 1 bedroom 1 bath unit. Very reasonably priced. Close to shopping, airports, nice central location to all.

    Koa Lagoon

    from

Our unit at Koa Lagoon was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities. Large lanai and great view. Close to beaches and shopping but not walking distance. We enjoyed our 2-week stay very much.

    Like...Aloha!

    from

Been to Koa Lagoon many times...always loved it. Great place to unwind and watch the sunsets. We were there Oct 2001 when the nation was is such turmoil and shock, and our feeling of peace was restored. The nunits are always well furnished and comfortable. We'll be back again and again.

    Total Comfort

    from

We have been staying at this resort for quite a few years. Besides a quite location close to all. Units are great, clean nicely appointed.

The last notes of Stars and Stripes rang out as the fireworks started at 8 pm. The fireworks were pretty cool and were similar to those put on by Clarkston and other small towns around the country. By 8:30 we were headed back to the car, but it was 10 pm before we got back to the resort because of the traffic and the bad timing of the traffic lights on Highway ...

By the time we walked home and rolled into our pocket sized bed it was 2am and get this...we didn't stir once until 9.30am the following morning! Our plan had worked! We slept unbelievably well, hadn't fallen out of bed and had a ...

We made our way back along the highway, amazed at how much faster it seemed coming back than heading there. We passed through a rainy section on the way back, ...

... brimming with excitement over the next stop.

Next stop was Turtle Town - apparently based on the number of turtles swimming around a reef just off the Wailea coastline. Brimming with confidence and keen to see some green turtles off we jumped. But this was v v different. The water was deep, so deep that the adults on board were happy for the four sassy australian kids to jump first. Visibility was pretty ordinary. OK, saw a ...

We walk through lush rainforest along two streams dotted with several waterfalls from 10 to 40 feet high each with a large pond perfect for swimming. The company is well known for their knowledgable naturalist guides who provide a fascinating narrative on Hawaii's ecosystems. The hike is only two miles round trip and footing can be tricky in the forest. The cost was $149.99 per person plus tipping and is a "Staff ...
