    ... in town happened to be in the middle of a fairway and with even more luck (well for golf mad Graham at least) the pro shop was still open in which to purchase some golfing goods! This was getting funnier by the minute!

    As it turned out, the restaurant was fabulous and there were no balls to be seen all evening...(GOLF BALLS PEOPLE, I MEANT GOLF BALLS!)

I do not own any sandals and did not bring along any old trainers to use, but came up with the idea of bringing a pair of shoe laces to thread around my flip-flops, thus turning them into makeshift sandals.     ... the 10m long raised platform section. The guard got out, followed by the disembarking passengers, checked our tickets and asked us to wait at the end of the platform whilst he checked in the other passengers. He explained that the train would move forward to allow us to enter the sleeping car directly. Having been used to UK trains, which stop, everyone gets on and it then moves off, it took a lot of trust in the system to allow the train to move forward a few coach lengths. ...

    ... on from here we climbed the ranges peaking at Sagehen Pass (8139') amongst delightful pines which stayed with us as we descended the western side to Mono Lake, which we had seen in 2012. Stopped at the Mono Mill site which had a good display of this once timber mill and railroad which supplied nearby (well, 30 miles away) Bodie.
