On the way back we decided not to tempt fate any further and found a return route bypassing the protests along a small river through local residences. It was nice to see some Thai people in Thailand. ... about where we were staying are all the little laneways through out the area. I would spend the afternoons wandering through them while Anita stayed safely at the hotel recuperating from the traumas of the rest of the day. The laneways are full of local life. No one cooks, they just buy what they want from people bring around trolleys of food. Little old men play board games in the laneways and women hack and scale fish ready to sun dry (gross).
