... 2.99, gallon 2% milk $5.09, and a box of Special K cereal $5.99! We ran by the ferry office, and I was able to book Valdez to Whittier, than goes up thru Glacier Bay. This will save about 10 hours of driving. After all of these stops, it was time for our evening walk. We went Sarrigaven Park, and took a walk out on the board walk into the national forest. It was almost 9 by now, and returned to camp. Finally found a radio station for a little entertainment; then off to ...

We saw lots of birds—Great Blue Herons, gobs of Black-Capped Chickadees, some tiny, tiny wrens (Pacific Wrens, we figured out later), at least a half-dozen Bald Eagles (still can’t get used to the fact that they are about as common as crows are at home), and a Belted Kingfisher, fishing in Mosquito Cove.
