There's a hot caldron placed on the table and you take the food and place it in the boiling water to cook. You can put in chicken, all kinds of fish, vegetables and many items we could not identify. ... ideal! When it was time to sleep the porter chap came along and made up the beds for us, including adding a 2" thick foam topper, for sure Thai sleeper trains are the best so far. On arriving in Surat Thani we were met by a very typical travellerish scene, not typical for us, but I am sure something we will see more and more as we travel around SE Asia on the well worn hedonist routes. The scene consisted of, 3-4 cafe's selling bad coffee and each with a tour desk ...
