      ... to exit the final train station to walk to the hostel it had 2 exits when I was only expecting one. Fortunately I chose the right side to go out from and managed to make it to the hostel! Currently sitting on my bed at the hostel in the evening sunshine. My room-mates (7 Argentinian boys) are all out so I have a bit of peace and quiet.

      Really interesting old town. The astronomical clock was quite amazing in its detail. Not only did we see it strike 12 noon, but a bride married in the town hall threw her bouquet to the crowd waiting for the clock to strike. It must have been wedding day in Prague...we also saw brides in veteran cars, horse drawn carriages and a roller. The side streets off the main square were much quieter, good to simply stroll.

      ... days, every group of panelaks had these incincerators and residents could burn off rubbish, very much frowned upon in the modern CR where recycling bins for everything are highly visible. This particular set of chimney stacks are a little more obvious than others given the rock climbing handholds attached very liberally around all four stacks all the way to the top.
      And no fence.

      ... old town and tourist attractions are less spread out. Unlike our apartment in Budapest, we didn't have to deal with multiple locking gates – much easier entrance into the apartment. It was nice enough inside, and would serve as a comfortable home base for our few days in Prague.
