      Bus to Fethiye

... stunning coves and turquoise waters, up into the hills and pine plantations, through local villages and then back to the coast at Fethiye.

Staying at a hotel above the yacht marina and port which is huge and has some incredibly expensive and enormous yachts and motor launches, a lot of which are covered for winter. The population is about 80,000, and it's a big tourist spot for British people apparently, and obviously a prosperous and modern city.

Today we left after a very poor breakfast – this hotel was the least impressive so far! Except for the great hot spa! We drove south to a town called Aphrodisia – what another great surprise this place was. It is the only site that has only been discovered by Turkish excavators. Once again it was amazing to wonder through many ruins mainly in honour of the god Aprodsia – Goddess of Love. ...

Satisfied with our purchases we began the 40 minute trek back to the villa, but by this point the temperature had reached around 38 degrees so the walk, laden with the items we had ...

... We are on our way to Gemillier, Rick's most favorite spot ever in Europe! Many times we have climbed "rock" this together, and this is only the third time I have returned to his beloved area since 2009. Thank goodness I have Denise to help me make this very rocky climb. Rick would always say: "Remember whenever you climb Gemillier, it is hard and unstable, so take someone with you to steady the way". Thank you Denise and Dennus, for being my current victims for ...

You Don't Want to Take THAT Bus!

... the next half hour as the bus continued to slowly creep up the hills. But we did finally summit what appeared to be the steepest part of the mountains, though we never sustained any sort of cruising speed. At some point in the next hour, we were finally picking up some speed on a 4 lane highway and I noticed a sign pointing directly down the road we were currently on which said “Fethiye.” “Why were we slowing down?” I ...
