      ... where you could see the marble columns and city walls (think Atlantis!), visited St. Nicolas' hometown Myra, had a mud bath, saw Lycian ruins and explored islands). That was a blast.

      But it's off-season now and the gulets are moored for the winter. And after looking at tour brochures, I see that they no longer offer all of this on one tour! They break it into 2 and charge twice as much for each.

      ... buying their groceries. We stocked up on fruit (apricots - my fave!), fresh vegetables and some delicious pastries and some honey to make our favourite Greek dessert - what's known here as Kadeyif (shoestring pastry with pistachio nuts soaked in honey - delicious!).       ... the right turning to the hotel, in front of you is a road that then turns into a track. Follow this and you will see the forest in front of you and you should pass an old cistern on your right.

      This track then meanders for some 6km at a guess all the way up to the top of Mt Babadag. You will pass a 2nd cistern by a farm about 1/3 of the way up, if i remember rightly abotu 1/2 way up there is a well on the right hand side on a left bend. ...

      ... Everyone is constantly walking around with a glass of tea in their hands and of course, every meal is followed by tea.

    • The locals also love to give you presents. So far, I have been given two bracelets and Lee has been given one.

    • Gözlemes (Turkish pancakes) with spinach and feta are awesome (and are very cheap if purchased from a roadside stall).
