We were being picked up at 5:30pm so we headed for the hostel to change into warmer clothes around 4:30pm. This is when we met our crazy 70+ year old roommate. No joke. She had a boom box and a binder full of CDs. It looked like she had been there awhile and she was pretty crazy looking. We quickly changed and then got out.

After that excitement, we sailed off round an island, past some impressive pads to a nice beach where we moored and ate lunch in the boat. We had entertainment at the same time as there was a guy with a jet pack on his back who was literally walking on water. It wasn't even Sunday! He soared quite a few feet above the water and did all sorts of twisty things. I managed to video some of it. ...

After a week in Byron, I was sad to leave, but had to move on to Coolangatta. Not much to say here - Iots of beaches, lots of books.

Headed off to Surfers Paradise this morning, but the sun hasn't appeared yet. I'm hoping it does as I have plans to sit on the beach and stare at all the professionals!
