... restaurant as last night. Tomorrow we fly home at 10.10 am which will conclude our Turkish Delight. We sincerely hope that the penguin remains in Dubai.

Incredible place. It's still under major development and the high rises are right beside the desert. Everyone speaks English. We tried to say hello (Ahalan) and thank you (Shakran) in their language but they didn't seem to use it. I'm thinking we've been set up and who knows what we've been saying!! ... least (we reckon it is fractionally bigger than the camper vans we hire in Australia) we have a fridge, hob and ensuite, so it is proving very comfortable and convenient. The first two days we spent recovering from jet lag and getting some welcome exercise walking around. It is such a pleasant city to wander around after Dubai.

We didn't get off to a great start when the car that was meant to be picking us up arrived early and took two other guests to the airport instead! Andy was on the phone for about 20 minutes to some useless guy trying to explain the situation (his reply- 'are you sure you're not at the airport??') but luckily the hotel took pity on us ...
