      Puerto del Rosario

A travel blog entry by maxieduncan on Jul 10, 2014

I decided a night in Puerto del Rosario might be good for a change of scene and I had an early flight in the morning. I probably should have listened more to what I'd been told, it's more industrial and not so enjoyable. Still it was a transit stop that helped me get to the airport in plenty of time, the bus being much more efficient than I'd expected.

... sun. Not the wind so much and you get dust from the Sahara blowing in which made it impossible to see Lanzarote across the way at times.
I found a relaxed hostel at the north end of town that had a nice back yard and deck leading down to the shore. I didn't get up to much during my time here apart from the beach, sun and cheap food and drink. Caught some of the World Cup matches and the F1 at a local bar, Alis Tavern, run by an Irish lady and her Italian boyfriend that was good ...

      Alone on a desert island

This volcanic island was granted Biosphere Reserve status by UNESCO in 2009. ...

      Champagne and chocolate. For breakfast

A travel blog entry by jim.p.smith on Feb 11, 2014

This morning I had (amongst other things) a glass of champagne and some chocolate (a chocolate doughnut) for my breakfast. After that we got a taxi into Playa Blanca, and went over to Fuerteventura for the day on the Fred.Olsen Express fast ferry (note that the full stop between Fred and Olsen was intentional, that's how it seems to be written ...

      First (full) day

A travel blog entry by jim.p.smith on Feb 10, 2014

We got up this morning, and had some breakfast. Then we had our welcome meeting, where we booked ourselves onto three trips, 'fire mountain', 'natural wonders' and a show on Friday evening. After this, we walked from our hotel, the H10 Timanfaya Palace into Playa Blanca, where we had a snack before walking back. After returning to the hotel, we sat by the pool for a while (one of the 'four poster' deck chairs was free so we sat on ...
