Tucked away on this tiny spit of land 10 minutes from Mazatlán is an elaborate garden just behind our campsite that appears to be a bit of a mystery. Is it part of a planned development for the island? Are they going to buy up our RV park so they have access to the beach? Will we be able to return here next year? It's a quality piece of landscaping so totally out of place in this rustic, indigenous community ...

... and they love them! I don't know how many we crossed previously but on one day, which was the lowest number because of the lack of villages and the motorway we used for over 50km, we crossed 103. Many are marked, a lot aren't and every now and again you get caught - they are vicious to hit at anything above walking pace!

As we headed to Mazatlan and a ferry to Baja California we used the motorway to improve our travel time - the 250km costing us over $50! ...

Hoping to find access back to the paved road and a person to open gate for us at the road, we went for it. Two guys came out of a small building and told us to go back. Then, after a moment, they waved us forward. Soon we discovered we needed to haul our bikes up and down a ...
