... s' travel adventure: Himalaya. Like Micheal, I had kept a travel diary of people and places of which I updated as often as I could. I did this in the hope that one day I would be able to write an entertaining travel blog to share with other readers. It was decided that we would go for a walk to get the oxygen pumping and have a look in Ben Thanh Market. Kythera did some bargaining and came out with some nice earrings and I picked up a Vietnam soccer shirt for Jojo.

We then headed back towards our district and walked slowly through Saigon Park. The kids decided that they were very tired and we stopped to take in the scenery and people. A nice old lady offered Kythera a pedicure which ...

There really is not enough space on the internet to tell you how much I enjoyed this country, so perhaps next time you see me, you can ask and I'll bore you to death.

For dinner we had pho at a restaurant Clinton visited – pretty good
pho! The rest of the night we watched young Vietnamese hold

... there are still original tunnels remaining with tiny openings called spider holes where the soldiers disappeared into the ground before pulling a tiny camouflaged lid over the opening. i was let climb into one and it was no easy thing to do. the only way a person fits is with their arms extended straight above their head and the lid sitting on top of the hands, and man was it dark in there! there was an old battered tank in the jungle and myself and brid were only too ...

Our walk back to the hotel involved a few bouts of tears from me (still pretty anxious!), although to be fair I did suffer a near-death experience! As I was crossing a main road, the lights changed suddenly and I was left stranded in the middle of the road (long-legged Jon had already made it to the other side), facing hundreds of speeding mopeds with no intention of braking. ... modernist building. Once the stronghold of the South Vietnamese government, it is preserved almost as it was when it fell in 1975. Although imposing from the outside, it is surprisingly light and airy inside, thanks to the glazed facades on each side and some clever concrete sun foils and natural ventilation. The building is still in use today, but it is a very eerie walking around the place.
