... lot. It doesn't feel bad, just different. One quiet afternoon after everyone was gone, we decided to take a Backcountry trail walk with Lily in Gulf State Park. We chose the Rosemary Dunes Trail because this is the one wherenLefty, the resident gator of Gulf State Park, has been spotted (and photographed by E) with her babies. She is named Lefty because she is missing a limb.

... on the other. The island is not more that a couple hundred yards wide in places. The fort is part of the National Park System so there is no development on this part of the barrier island. It’s really pretty deserted right now.

Interesting note: The white sand is ground quartz that has was down the rivers over millennia from the Appalachian Mountains. Who knew water and time could make such beautiful sand from mountain rocks? ...

We order and settle down to watch the bun tossing and the myriad of waiters stopping at tables offering one of the "pass arounds." We figure out that if it isn't a finger food they only offer it to patrons who have been served so there is a plate to put the food on.
