    Blown away by elegance on ship.

    ... staterooms weren’t ready until 3 p.m., which meant dragging suitcases around the ship and into the buffet. The disembarkation process was quick and easy, particularly for those of us carrying our own luggage off the ship.

    The only time we were aware of how many (about 3,700) passengers were onboard was when the theater was packed for the shows, or a crowd waited to get off the ship at the ports of call.

    ... not running, so went to Outback for supper. After supper we went to the Broward Performing Arts Center and took in a Broadway musical - Memphis. Came back to the car and the battery was dead because the lights were left on. Called the rental agency but David has no roadside assistance - was going to cost $89, decided to try my AAA - it could take up to 45 min. Meanwhile a guy stopped with cables and gave us a boost. I’ve only made five reservations for guided activities: 1 day exploring Volcano National Park with a native Hawaiian guide, 1 evening tour of ancient Kauri trees led a native Maori, a morning jeep tour of sand dunes and sculpture led by a native Maori, a full day guide in the remote Catlins area at the southernmost area of the South Island, and a 7 day lodge-to-lodge trek.

    There was so much to do in Florida we barely scratched the surface at any of the places we visited. We were certainly glad to be back in an English speaking country and not worrying about the food or the drinking water. Everywhere we went the people were exceptionally friendly. But there's more of the U.S.A to explore so we're off to Chicago!

    ... t finish today, you have to pay so much attention to each part, even the ceilings. I went home and had wine at home. Nicole came to visit. Ellen phoned so I met them downtown. We went to Capones (3 for 1 drink specials) and then to America's Backyard, such a cool open air club. I got home at about 2.
