... in one corner of the square which had been closed the last time we were here, which was a shame because it had been full of nans but this time we spotted people going in and out so I went to investigate. The Colla Vella pinya had formed and the first member of the folre climbed up which caused a bit of a hush in the crowd. He had a really long walk to the centre. I'm pretty certain that this was the biggest pinya I'd ever seen and I've been enjoying castells for 12 years, having attended 5 days of competition and 3 practices this year alone.

... in Herefordshire and gaining international recognition as a fine example of the vodka distillers art and a bottle of Chilton's Damson Gin that we had tried at the Shrewsbury food festival. We're not great fans of gin but the gin tonic is the drink of choice for many castellers and is generally popular in Catalunya so a Shropshire-produced gin seemed a good idea. I think they liked them. We managed a few nightcaps before the long and uphill walk back to the hotel.

... train station which is a fair way outside the city and had to leave before we'd properly finished so I agreed to take Ash and Jav in our car.

After we'd paid the bill we set off for Valls, gawping somewhat at the price of the parking ticket (it's one of those places where you pay buy the minute). I've more or less got the hang of the roads around the town now and managed to find the Hotel Class at the first attempt.
