Leaving Hunter Valley to go to Palm Beach (Australia) Day 5

We had another lovely breakfast at Thistle Hill enjoying the
company of the other guests. We did not
meet the owner (Carol) until that morning as she had been out of town. Jackie is the resident inn keeper when Carol
is gone. Both Carol and Jackie have a
love of making people welcomed ...

Completed the few domestic duties we had, I went for a run while Pete went for a massage. Started packing but took a break for some Yum Cha in Blacktown. Returned and finished packing, surprisingly we had heaps of room left over, what have we missed?? Booked a cab, battled the traffic and arrived 3 hours prior to our flight. Looking forward to the business and first class Etihad ...

... for an au pair job with the next day, and he messages me in the morning asking how my birthday was. I pretend it was really good and don't make out at all that he'd affected me by blowing me off like that, and he knows no different. Since my birthday, we've messaged on and off a few times, but no where near as much as when he was away. I think because he was on his own on that trip he was lonely, so just took the time to talk to me. Now he's back with all his hundreds of friends ...

We were picked up by our driver Zee at 2pm and along the way saw massive fractures in the road surface caused by a burst water main at Mowbray Rd.

Sydney airport has gotten rid of the rat maze Duty Free store so it is quite easy to navigate straight through to the gates.

Luckily we travelled Jokestar Business Class. Once we settled into our seat, French Champagne was the order of the day.

The flight went smoothly and upon arrival at ...

          Arrive at Karon Beach

A travel blog entry by tonymm on Mar 30, 2015

... and then caught a cab to Karon Beach to meet up with Mike at the hotel he booked. Arrived at hotel about 11:30pm. Temperature hot and humid, I think when we landed it was 27 degrees. Greeted by Mike and had a cold welcoming beer. Then off to be bed as the time was getting onto 4 am, Sydney time. I wasn't the only one to have a hiccup with their travel plans, Mike's luggage got lost for a day and half in Singapore. Delivered at 4 am in the morning.
