Two days before I get on the plane to sunny Mexico and Daisy and I are still unsure of whether we are meeting in Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires, my rucksack is defiantly empty, and I have not eaten nearly enough Christmas leftovers.

Six months ago I would of laughed at the idea of me getting on a plane, leaving England for six months and carrying all my belongings around in a single backpack. In less than 24 hours time, however, I leave for London to do just that. Margaret kindly drove us to Newton Abbot station to catch the train to LHR.
