    Last night... in Lopud!

    ... for some lunch and a few afternoon swims – the water was surprisingly cool today! But refreshing as always. Afterwards we pulled up anchor and swung around to the next bay which was the island of Lopud, another small port but good for a walk around and nosey. We settled in a nice beachside bar for a couple brews ;)

    We then went back to the boat and had our last dinner on board with everybody, including a bottle ...

    ... catch the ferry to Lopud Island. This was going to be our home base for the next week and from there we would be going out on Kayak expeditions as well as some days of water sports and assorted activities. We were not really sure what was in store, but Trip Advisor said the company was pretty good and the trips seemed family friendly.     This morning we said our goodbyes to our hosts the Vodanovich family and gave them a few souvenirs. They have so little in the way of wordly goods compared to us but they are such warm proud people. We hope we didn’t embarrass them with our gifts.We boarded the bus for Dubrovnik, about 170ks away. Then there is the third oldest pharmacy still in operation in the Monastery, operating since 1317. Reading about the war in Dubrovnik and the viciousness of the assault on this beautiful city is hard, especially as it only happened 20 years ago.
