The hotel was a great, quiet place on top of a hill so the views were amazing. In the morning before the clouds came in you could see all of the valley and three volcanos, Irazú, Brava and Poás. Both nights we took a cab into Atenas for dinner and ate at two open air, thatched roof restaurants. Paul got to experience the 'casado' (anything with rice and beans on the side) that I have been eating for 5 weeks.
