... a peaceful town just around the coastline, called Cavtat. It's the pick for Hollywood A-listers and Russian billionaires. Cavtat doesn't have the impact of Dubrovnik, whose history is everywhere, but you certainly do get the sense that Cavtat is a place you come to relax and unwind, just sit and watch the boats and the water. First breakfast at the Hotel Excelsior was sumptuous. We left well fortified for our hike up to the wall above Old Town, which we started around 9 a.m. It was already blazing hot and the wall has very few shady spots. ... There are metal stairs along the rocks that show you can get into the water, but that’s it. You’re on your own. It is no wonder that tourists get into trouble when they visit beaches in Australia if this is what they are used to.

Finally, we visited the Fort which is detached from the old city. It was built to protect the town by invasions from sea and land. It also happens to be the home of scenes filmed in Game of Thrones. Not that either of us ...

... We then headed along to the bar and had a drink with Sam, Steph, Ian, Cheryl, Tahnee and Jillian and celebrated that today was Steph's birthday. Lots of birthdays on this tour.

Dinner was once again included and was a fantastic buffet - one of the highlights for me was fresh fish - hake - straight off the barbeque plate - ahmaaaazing! After dinner the six of us who'd been at our table decided to go for a walk and see if we could find ...
