26th December day 16 Boxing Day Today we had a fairly steady day, got up around 7.30 had a bit of breakfast and scratched around a bit. Then we headed out to find somewhere we could rent some paddle boards, we wanted to do it on a river more than the sea obviously because it's flatter and really we both wanted to have a closer look at all these multi million pound houses from a closer spot. After arriving in Rainbow Beach we got to stay with some of our great Fraser Gang - Emily, Lou, Aileen, Jak and Laura and we were made up. We tucked in to the hostel offer of Spag-Bol and Beer and had hit the sack. We were huge,y disturbed by a strange boy in our dorm who had an unbelievable sinus problem which made his snoring sound like a tiger growling into surround sound. And they were plastic mattresses - WORST NIGHTS SLEEP ...

... kept driving. Northern New South Wales is undergoing an enormous amount of roadworks, currently rebuilding around 50 kilometres of the highway in areas stretching from Port Macquarie to Ballina. Very slow going! But, we eventually reached the Queensland border, stopped to make tea at a truck stop in Coomera, and drove through to a rest stop in Glenview. I am continuously amazed at the size of our wonderfully diverse country. Now time for a well deserved snooze for us ...

... becoming a pain in the ass!! turns out the Australian school holidays had just begun so everyone was out and about in holiday mode! With our third attempt at a campsite we managed to secure a spot, however it was a fair distance outside the centre of Noosa and by this stage both our patience were worn.
