    ... of an 18-wheeler tire!!! Of course by the time I ran out of the water and got my camera the turtle was gone :( Oh well better luck next time.

    Getting ready to leave for the airport. Will be landing in San Fran @ 9 this evening. We will be renting a car and heading up to HEARST CASTLE an item on Donna's bucket list!!!

    ... where our host has told us there is a Safeways, which is reached by turning at Longs Drug Mart. The street runs close to the beach, which looks pretty good, in a sheltered, no-surf sort of way. We can see the Longs Drugstore, and a shopping centre nearby, so park, but have no luck with a supermarket. We try at Longs, which has a surprisingly large range of groceries, but are confused by the "Club" prices, some as low as 50 percent of the “you pay” prices. ...

    Woke up at our usual time, uploaded some photos of Hilo to our blog - far too many but which ones do you omit? Well in our case about 100 of them. It took a while to upload and I was thrown off the internet after about an hour. Thanks !!

    ... It did service in the Korean War, was mothballed for 26 years, recommissioned, was involved in the Gulf War, then retired again. We had a couple of hours on the boat, which included a guided tour and then time to wander about and explore. We also saw the memorial to the dead of the Oklahoma.
