The morning began in the middle of the night when we woke up at 2:30 AM to drive to Haleakala National Park from Lahaina. This isn't the same Haleakala from earlier; it's the same park, but a different area. We drove up the mountain to an elevation of 10,023 feet at the summit. We made 4 stops in the Hawaiian Islands; the Big Island (Hilo), Oahu ( Honolulu), Maui (Lahaina) and Kauai (Nawiliwili)

... able to swim in one. There were dramatic shorelines, pounding surf, lava tubes, and black sand beach, not to mention coconut ice cream. A long day of driving but simply blown away by the scenery.

Sharon and Gary and Myra and I had dinner at 'Mama's Fish House'. This was a new experience for all of us and the view and food were outstanding. a define place to repeat.

... pulled up and saw dozens of cars circling the tiny lot, we were glad that we did. Our taxi driver was a talkative man who had immigrated from Vietnam and had lived in Maui for over 20 years. He gave us the inside scoop on what restaurants on the island were good and which were too pricey for the quality. He also told us that the luau we had selected was the best and most authentic on the island.
When we arrived at the Old Lahaina Luau we were greeted ...
