... 85 feet almost vertically down through total darkness, landing with a huge splash into the river again . To say the splash made us wet is the understatement of the year. It DELUGED on us!!!! hahaha. Very refreshing to be honest with temperatures up in the 100s again. Shame about our shoes is all....
After that we thought in for a penny in for a pound so we had a ride on Popeye's Bilge Rat barges, another raft ride from hell and ...

Another day of adventure at Universal's other park; Islands of Adventure. This park has more big thrill rides and areas to explore than Universal Studios, along with the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Today the troops were slow to get going after the drenching we all had and the late night for some! But Ben had to soldier on because he left @ 6:30 this morning for home. He has a very long trip home. First from here - Orlando - to Miami by bus, then plane to Dallas, plane to Los Angeles and plane to Melbourne. We have worked out that the trip will have taken him about 35 hours when he eventually arrives home ...

I decided I was properly awake and got dressed, then thought I'd change the SIM card in my phone to an American one. Unfortunately as soon as the new one came on board I got a couple of automated txts - the beeps woke Jill. By that time we decided we were very hungry for breakfast & headed down ...

    Day 1: On our way

A travel blog entry by karenlhorne on Apr 07, 2014

Our holiday is finally here (Ethan has been counting down the days since we booked it last summer). When we got stuck in Florida for a month in 2010, due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption, I thought we had saturated our interest in all things Disney and would never come again. Yet, here we are. There is something irresistible about the queues, the heat, the endless theming and the artificial smiles - we keep coming back for more and we love it! We normally stay ...
