We had planned to stay here for three or four days then go to Perth for three or four days, so we will just stay put here and do day trips to Perth. Maybe even take a train in, now that the trains are back running after being shut down for track maintenance and causing a lot of disruption in the last few days.

... our little Hyundai rental (who thought you could fit so much in such a little car!) to our accommodation in Fremantle. With great views out over the Indian Ocean and over the harbour we set out on foot to explore. We had the yummiest ice cream at the marina. We strolled around, marvelled at the massive boats moored before heading home to watch the Union (Australia won!)
Almost exactly 48 hours after we climbed out of bed in Hawaii, we were climbing back in to bed, this time at the Wickham Retreat in Perth where we stayed in February! By now it was nearly 1am on Saturday morning so we were surprised to find only 1 person already asleep in our full 6 bed dorm! We climbed on in and were asleep within minutes! We must have been tired as neither of us heard any of the others come to bed that night so we just woke up in a room full ...
