... irritable particularly as the taxi driver charged us €20 to go 500m to the hotel. We are peregrinos, we know how far 500m is and this guy ripped us off! But we got there, a clean bed and our own facilities even a room kettle. The Holiday Inn Express has never seemed so plush. Up earlyish and a train to Benalmadena ensured that we were outside of family's apartment before 9:30. Big mistake! They weren't there! A busy final week. Joy treated us to a tasty lunch at Las Tablas in Torre. Delicious Spanish food with a bit of a twist . The Feria was just starting in Torre and immediately in front of Joy's place they had erected a tent for the day raves, the first of which was already in full , very loud, flow. These run from lunchtime to early evening for the 3 days of the feria.( The night one then takes over at the other end of town to ensure non- stop partying.) Anyway ...
Today is packing day. First, I make my requisite cup of espresso with the apartment's Keurig-like espresso machine. I have gotten so hooked on cafe con leche that I am going to have to purchase my own espresso machine. It's the "life is too short" mantra I've got going. Next is packing. I do as much as I can except for last minute items that will have to wait until tomorrow.
It's raining so we can't go to the beach and gaze at the Mediterranean lying under ...
Stace was not feeling good today. He had a bit of a stomach bug a couple days ago but felt fine yesterday. Not sure how it can come back. Soooo, we hung out and let Stace get some rest. By mid-day we took off to the mountain town of Ronda, about an hour of swervy drivimng. Uggh.
