... need to get an alarm system and then worry about it long distance. The Venetian Falls place. Beautiful inside, much newer than the other places we looked at, being sold furnished, lovely grounds, across the street from a beautiful club house and pool. Lots of activities, very low HOA fees BUT there is nothing special about it - no view except plants out the back. No Florida feel other than it would be warm and sunny. I have a lot of reservations about getting a house rather than a condo, because there is no other entity who is responsible for caring for your place while you are gone. We're now further up the coast in St. Pete's Beach, FL. Sunny Florida has gone a bit cool on us with cloudy skies. We walked on the beautiful St. Pete's beach every day, sometimes twice a day, and generally relaxed, reading and watching tv. This is a summer vacation town and there's not much else to do here, especially in the off season.
