... and the entrance to the Grand Tetons National Park. We start to see views of Jackson Lake as we descend with only a short distance to Colter Bay Village RV Park. Colter Bay is at 6,800 feet. The Grand Tetons Range to our west is starting to show off. What a great view. Haven't seen mountains like this since Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper in Canada.

Actually it is the road to Moose, Wyoming) but the moose apparently decided to take Saturday off (but didn’t tell the tourists – it was a very busy, very small road), then decided to check out Jackson, Wyoming, which is just south of the park.

They took a shuttle boat across the lake and from there hiked up to Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point - lunch spot on rocks with a cooling breeze - and continued on into Cascade Canyon. The trail rose about 400 feet in less than a mile so the girls did exceptionally well carrying their own backpacks, after some initial complaining of course. ... about bears, there was a distinction between how to respond to a black bear versus a grizzly bear if attacked. We concluded that if we see a bear, we probably won't rush over and punch it in the nose. That would make for an interesting story, though!
