... A three men group closed in on us but as they were with three we decided they were disqualified although they had to go through great length to overtake us. A second group overtook us by inches as Sunny and I called it a day moving aside the dock. We had dinner at a street market for the first time (it was a posh ish version of one) this was really yummy and cheap! He'd only had a few drinks and suddenly he could barely stand or focus. He was sick. I drove us back to the apartment and only just managed to get him inside the apartment; his legs kept buckling. The next morning he only had very vague memories of the previous night. We then hoped to meet Angeline ...

... Surat Thani. We stopped at other bathroom and hardware stores on the way to try and save us a trip into Surat Thani but none of them had any showers so we plodded on. We knew we weren't going to make the 1pm ferry so we stopped at Starbucks for a welcome rest. After buying 2 more showers we headed for the pier at 2pm; it was an hour's drive away and there was a ferry at 4pm. We didn't stop for fuel or anything; we were almost running on fumes. ...
