... the shopping in Cortina is just fabulous and not a "chain" store to be found. Really worth the drive to this super chic resort.
The one downside is that it is crowded. We are in high season and German school Holiday is going on now. Add to that the fact that the Dolomites have not had this much snow since 1951. Minor complaint and it sounds like things will clear out next week.

The shows in Brixen however did not reflect the niceness of our accommodation. I have never met ruder children!! Oh well - I guess they're teenagers!
We had a trip up to Ploser, approx 2500m high and the views were stunning!
Off to Innsbruck on Thursday where we will be joined by boyfriends, girlfriends and family!! So ...
... through it. There isn't much to do here apart from walk up to the Schloss on top of the hill at one end of town. But luckily, the weather has been kind to us and on Sunday there was blasting sunshine!
We met with a friend, David Taylor, who also works for Vienna's English Theatre and went to dinner with him. His knowledge of Austria is incredible and he has enough anecdotes that could last for days! A very nice evening had by all.
Nice crisp morning at -1deg. Sat in front row of bus today and got great pics of snow coming out of Austria. Kevin, the tour director talked heaps about what to expect in Italy. He is a great leader. Most beautiful scenery on the trip and I was lucky to be in the front seat to get awesome ...
... I noticed quite a number of bikes coming up the pass whereas last year there was only one biker and that was some Nutter from Scotland!!
My first plan was to simply take a trip up here to Giau summit and head back to the hotel but then I had a brain storm and something came flashing back into my head and that was the western section of Falzarego Pass.
I remember this pass as being a truly great road with high cliffs much of the way and some old bridges hung ...
