... a total blast – very fast driving over steep dunes makes you hang on very tight. There were about 40 vehicles out with us, each car carrying 6 tourists. Lots of fun and highly recommended. We stopped to watch the sun set over the Arabian Desert which was really quite special.

Back in the cars to the venue for our Bedouin BBQ dinner - we arrived at a large outdoor compound and grabbed a table. Dinner was a series of ...

... complete. At 8:30pm, as we were preparing to check out of our hotel and enter a taxi for the airport, then it happened... Sofia became ill.

(All this to get back on the same plane!!!).
I don't remember getting back on the plane, but I believe I slept through most of ...

... How? Our cabin crew were only one place ahead of us in duty free. Finally we made it through the gate, were subjected to more random security checks before priority boarding whisked us and onto the plane for a complimentary glass of bubbles or an orange juice. The flight was relatively uneventful and the cabin crew came around with a steady flow of food and drinks, lunch, ice cream, snacks, afternoon tea and sweets. Whilst it was a flight during the day it ...

Day Twelve - Dubai Mall & Burj Khalifa

... tallest building in the world by far. It opened in 2010 and even in Dubai where there are many buildings around 80-100 floors it towers over everything. Last time we were in Dubai it was not completed and we were blown away be it then, so we had to have a look.

We go through the entrance (including an airport-style security scan) which is in the basement of the mall and then do the long trek to the lifts up to the 124th floor. It only takes about ...
